STEM, Agile, and Military Spouses

Hello everyone! It’s been a crazy week. At Society for Military Spouses in STEM (SMSS), we released our 2019 Spotlight Book. I’m proud to say I worked on it.

The creation of the Spotlight started in May this year when we asked military spouses in STEM to fill out the SMSS survey. The survey asked questions about where their current duty station is, how long they’ve been married to a military spouse, what their job is and if it’s the STEM job of their dreams.

We took the data from the survey and turned it into infographics. This was the most fun part for me. It’s nice to be able to work on the creative side of things. I’m no infographic expert but I hope you enjoy them!

Global Scrum Gathering 2020

Judging criteria for submissions looks for the X Factor.

On top of that, I learned I was selected as a reviewer for the Global Scrum Gathering in New York in May next year. I’ve been on the submission side plenty. It will be interesting to see how submissions are selected behind the scenes! So far I attended a training on how to review the submissions. It included the judging criteria for presentations, title, topic, and most importantly – the X Factor! I always had an inkling that this was something submissions boards looked for but I wasn’t aware that it’s a specific checklist item.

I’m excited to see what people have submitted for the Global Scrum Gathering!

Finally, for fun. Here are my most popular Pins for the week. That’s right. Lilyotron is on Pinterest!
