I may be a bit of a hypocrite here since my last few posts have been warning against the marketing machine, but Microsoft is coming out with a new line of computers and devices for the holiday season.
I couldn’t help but notice the Microsoft Duo. It’s a folding phone that runs on Android. I was excited when the Galaxy Fold came out because I thinking folding phones are a fun idea. What a cool gadget! Unfortunately, the Galaxy had some design flaws where the fold broke the screen.

The Duo looks better because it has a bezel down the middle instead of a continuous screen. I’m not sure what the use for the Duo is. I already have a nice sized smartphone. The Duo isn’t really big enough to type blog posts.
As someone who’s implementing Digital Minimalism and being more aware of how much I’m on my devices around my kid, how can I justify a cool, new gadget?
Look at it though! It’s so beautiful.
