Dedicate a Home Office Space in 2021

1st Quarter Refresh

The 1st Quarter Refresh is a 20 day challenge in helping you start off the year right. We tackle one task a day. Sign up now if you want to join (it’s free).

Unless you already worked from home before last year, you probably didn’t have a dedicated home office space. Maybe you had a desk in a guest room or a filing cabinet in a closet but, nothing designed for long hours working from home.

Then COVID-19 hit and everyone was forced to work remotely. Suddenly the kitchen table become office central and you had to shove your laptop and work documents into a corner at dinner time. Yes, that’s me. We’re talking about my dining room table. 😅

Who else has that same desk from Target? 🙋🏼‍♀️

Today’s Assignment: Create a dedicated home office space

Take a look at your home and decide where would actually be a good fit for your home office. Think about the materials you would like to have at your workspace. If you don’t have a desk, buy an organizing bin. I like these from Open Spaces.

Conventional home offices say to have a door you can close. A whole, dedicated room. But when kids are home from school and spouses work from home too that becomes difficult. Check out the video below on how set up your home workstation (even if you don’t think you have the space).
